SGT(P) Eric L. I have gotten the support at the Hampton VA Medical Center for the PTSD support. I went to two sessions and going to more this year once every four months. The VA has been helpful and resourceful.

Good for you brother! How about going through one session and be done? I posted above. Good luck!

I have attended group therapy in the past and it was very helpful until I found out they were talking about me when I wasn't there. What they were saying wasn't nice. It turned me off of the idea until recently I looked at going but it's too far to travel.

There are a lot of legit groups out there... Don't give up... You will find one where you can feel comfortable..... and anyway people run their mouths because they can... don't take it personal.

ONE on ONE should always be the first choice in any PTSD patient than EMDR/CBT or group can be brought on board anyone just thrown on medications and or thrown in group without first a good 8 visits one on one is not being treated according to standard.

I'm sorry that group was so negative to you.
I pray you can find a good group that fits you just right

Sorry to hear this TSgt.These groups have a coordinator. At no time should a person (patient)ever be discussed without consent. This borders on HIPPA laws and should be reported. My son councils soldiers going overseas and returning. He does both group and individuals. All with privacy in mind.
