Hey RP fam, my uncle (who served during Vietnam) was trying to remember what the slang term was for strings hanging off of your pockets/seams, typically in the BDU uniform. You would use a lighter to burn those off. If NCOs found them during inspection, you would find yourself in the front leaning rest, or performing the beloved flutter kick.

Anyway, does anyone remember what people used to call those strings? There was a funny name for them, but I can't remember what it was. Thanks!

We always called them ropes, CPT Aaron Kletzing, because they could "hang" you!
