When should you talk to Retention about getting into the IRR ( Army Reserve)?

I'm in the army reserve and looking for the exit 2022 April. I know I should get with retention to get started with IRR packet but when should I start talking to retention about it? I've heard 6months prior or 90 days prior to my ETS. Thanks!

Go find your Retention NCO and ASK THEM when you can start the packet. I mean, they are the SMEs.

It took this guy a while to go into the irr but he was also in a ready Force unit.
Maybe he can shed some light or others here could too?

LTC (Join to see) - It looks fine to me on desktop. On my smartphone the name was slightly overlapping the upvote button, but I was still able to give an upvote on my smartphone.
