Hello, so i've been wondering something.... so it says there's a shortage for the infantry mos's.... and also a shortage for 68W.... so is it still possible for me to re class out if infantry and into 68W even though there's shortages for both mos's? I don't want to re-class yet but for future reference would it be possible to re-class from a mos that has a shortage of people to another mos that also has a shortage of people.... more specifically infantry to 68W?

HRC is the deciding authority. They might say yes or no, it all comes down to the strengths of each MOS at the time of the decision.

I did just that but it was in 2006 at the time. Dunno if that had any bearing on it.

https://armyreenlistment.com/site/reclassification/ is the link.... its right under Current "Reclassification In/Out Call Message(s)"

Reclassification - ArmyReenlistment
This message is used for Regular Army reclassification purposes. In/Out calls are changed as needed based on the strength of the MOS.

I myself wanting to reclass but more then likely it will come down to HRC decision but because 11B is so understrength they more then likely won’t let you reclass because of man power but there’s a slight possible chance.

If you are still currently a PVT probably not. Reclassing is something usually done in a re-enlistment contract. That being said, one of the best people you can talk to is your career counselor.
