This is a serious but not so serious post about what lessons ISIS might've learned when they Messed with Texas. What are you thoughts??

"Authorities say the suspects, identified as Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi, drove up to the building where the contest was being held in the Dallas suburb of Garland and opened fire. An unarmed school district security guard was wounded before a Garland police officer returned fire and killed both men."

So they drove up to the gate and basically committed suicide by cop. Nothing was accomplished except for two more terrorists sent to hell. I like that outcome. And really, why should we give a rats about hurting their wittle feewings when they are hell bent to kill us all???

GOOD Jesus baby Christ....

AND PS!! I know we have a LOT of bright people here.... ISIS CLAIMS!!! CLAIMS!!! So some will get what I am asking.... Good God all mighty... I have ELABORATED. Jesus

CLAIM: state or assert that something is the case, typically without providing evidence or proof.

It's kind of funny how they think there are going to accomplish anything, but being killed. What message were they trying to send? How fast our Police officers can draw and control their groupings? Consider that a "GO" at this station. Any others, will be put in their place and expedited to their safe haven up above where they are linking up at. Im sure their mohammed is rolling in his grave. Anyways, keep those rounds on target and make those shot groups tight. I am sure more will be willing to see how jacketed hollow points feel like.

Yeah, I agree that they absolutely didn't accomplish ANYTHING. They had automatic rifles and couldn't hit a fly! These two people were idiots. Thank God for our PO's in this incident.

ISIS makes many claims just to make people think that they're global badasses. These guys are homegrown wannabes. They wanted to be martyred ...they got their wish.

SGT (Join to see) This just in... the Officer who took down the terrorists was just a normal Patrol officer with a service pistol, NOT swat gear. Apparently they teach their officers marksmanship and how to Shoot in Garland. Nice.

Texas cops, regardless of the size of the city in which they're employed, have a tendency to "take no shit" from anyone. I was raised by one. They're no joke.

Us Arizonans will be glad to help out our Texan brothers and sisters. We are also legally armed (Arizona is an open and concealed carry state, no permit required as long as you're legally able to own firearms) and many of us are veterans and/or hunters with extensive weapons training.

I think ISIL needs to re-evaluate their PR campaign if they are claiming credit for a botched attack where the only casualties were the perpetrators.

They still get some mileage out if it....."we can strike you anywhere, at any time." Still amps up the doubt and fear.

What ISIS has learned:
1) Am I correct they were armed with assault rifles and body armor and a single officer took them out with his service pistol? Hit softer targets next time. I know their targeted event was in Texas but that is the last state you would want to mess with and the event was prepared for such hostility.

2) If they want to kill us, they need to send in professionals. Poorly trained converts who are well armed are hardly a match for a well-trained marksman.

1) I tend to agree that they will probably pick Blue States.
2) I don't think they will come in with just AR's after that. I think they have learned that if they are going to mess with Americans, they are going to have to do something bigger.
3) WHY IN THE WORLD would they want to claim this act. They took out ankles... We killed them. I'd be embarrassed.

I really don't think ISIS had anything to do with this attack. I think it is likely ISIS leadership, once they heard of the possible extremist group connection from the one shooter, saw an opportunity to imply their presence in the US and their ability to conduct an operation. ISIS has not shown it's ability to conduct terrorist attacks outside the Levant, so being able to imply their global reach may give them more "street cred". The only ones to support or dismiss their claim of responsibility are dead.

I am surprised they claimed responsibility, though, as it is pretty evident there was an extreme lack of planning conducted by the two gunmen. Planning and reconnaissance have been one of ISIS's strong points in regards to it's operations, although tactical patience has not been.

Veronica, I agree, the gunmen didn't really do anything, like I said, I don't think that was the point of ISIS's claim. Just making the claim of responsibility implies ISIS presence in the US, which speaks to their previous claims of sleeper-cells. While the result of the operation shows disorganization, that is something they can address later. Being able to claim a presence may and likely will improve their ability to influence and recruit fringe extremists in the US. Just my analysis of the situation.

Veronica, Aaron comment is 100% on the mark, ISIS is making use of psych ops, and that is what we need to recognize because through good psych ops ISIS can easily influence other idiots to copy cat. Take it from some one that use to plant seeds of discourse do not under estimate ISIS, learn from the mistakes of those that have failed to estimate them. Your message should me to educate and be vigilant because ISIS is making use of anything to spread fear. There will be more copy cats it is human nature, which means a copy cat will eventually hit pay dirt.

SGT (Join to see) Possibly, but I think it would be another "lone wolf" style, and they would make claims after the fact.

In order for them to activate and organize, it will take serious, dedicated effort to stay off the radar. For them to communicate, they would have to use the AQ tried and true method of written notes and messengers. That's how AQ stays below the radar for such long periods at a time. One of the major grievances in the AQ/ISIL split was the lag time between communications and operations. ISIL likes to strike hard and fast, let everyone know it's them, and move quickly to the next objective.

They have shown they are very adept at using social media. They have also shown they love to rely on electronic media and telephonic communication to coordinate and pass orders. For them to continue using these methods to communicate with sleeper cells here would create so much "chatter", law enforcement would likely thwart the attack prior to execution. Of course we would here of the LE success stopping an attack, but only after exploitation.
