Military discount
Every time I get to my car after shopping I say to myself, you didn't ask for military discount! I may have lost some savings there but it is because I always forget about it.
Do you ask for military discount? If so, when and where?

I usually forget. But my wife usually reminds me and calls me a dumbass for forgetting. Haha. The one I always remember is AutoZone.

the autozone near my home recognize me and always put the discount on my bill with being asked. the only time i ask about the discount is buying shoes. 10-20 percent discount on $150 shoes help alot.

If the company recognizes me as a military member or offers it to me Ill take it, but I think its presumptuous of us to think that we are owed something. I for one didn't join the military to be owed anything, I did it because I love this country and...well the pay isn't to bad either.

It does...it does. I keep saying RallyPoint needs the mouse over to display acronyms...but it has yet to be implemented.

I check online first. In the end, they are extending their support of You, the person who would lay down your life so they can continue running their business and enjoy their way of life. If they want to say thanks with 10%, then I'll humbly accept and make sure to be a repeat customer.

Sir, even online I forget about it. If the page doesn't say it, I won't ask for it.

SGT(P) (Join to see) Same here. It's nice to receive it, but I don't go out of the way to try to get it. But I do tend to shop more at military discount businesses. Auto Zone was a big one for me.

I would just use Discount Soldier. It is a free military discount community app. Most stores who offer military discounts are listed, including how much they offer.

In my experience most entertainment venues have group discounts with companies in their local area - if you ask, most will offer the same discount (usually about 10%) even if they don't have an official military discount.

I usually forget but I will ask if it is offered on a sign like at Lowe's or Auto Zone. I usually get asked if I'm military based off my hair or my CAC. If it is offered a I will graciously accept.

I only have issues with people that abuse of it. There was this sunglasses kiosk at the mall with a clearance sale, some sunglasses were down to $3. I was about to pay and the guy in front of me asked for military discount. That's when I don't get it. But wherever you can save $5 or more, why not?
