Wow, remember the names, not much else. Been 39 years since I was there. Most of my boot camp/bct is condensed into a few memories, like leaving the gas chamber and running over a 2lt who was standing in the doorway when they told us we could get out. Didn't even get in trouble for it, that was the best part.

As a former DS at Knox, there is no way for me to count how many times I have both rucked and ran those hills. I will never forget them.

Graduated AIT at Ft. Knox back in Feb. '91. Hard to believe those hills grew back. I ran them all flat during my time there.

I did six years there as an instructor and Drill Sergeant 1986-1992. Love running my guys up and down which included ROTC in the summer

I know these three devils very well!

When did you go through BCT SPC Jeffery Hardin? I was the CSM of 1-46 IN (BCT) at Fort Knox and know those hills well....so steep you feel like you can reach out and touch the hill as you march up the range roads.

Here's a link that discusses the history of the post as well as the history of the hills.

CSM, I first experienced those hills in 2008. I've since finished my enlistment and will see those hills again next summer. Those hills are probably the most memorable thing about ruckin on Fort Knox!
