Whether it's a topic on 'crying', equating a 'non'-commissioned officer with a 'non' white or vice versa, most/least favorite (name something), using 'GO!' with a topic, 20 different conversations about an update regulation, etc., what's been the most ridiculous topic posted on RallyPoint?<br><br>Although there may be numerous, try to name just one.

<div>This discussion.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div>A huge reason soldiers don't open up their mouths and ask questions is because of the ridicule they receive from seniors who believe they are the only ones with legitimate things to say. Or seniors who believe their sole version of so-called "common sense" is the correct version of common sense.&nbsp;<div><br></div><div>Im all for humor but I support learning and spreading knowledge more than anything.&nbsp;<br><div><br></div><div>Perhaps RallyPoint should have a separate site where service members who know everything can go and floss their knowledge ;) &nbsp;</div></div>

i don't know why that discussion is so polarizing. It is just a question.

Haha roger, SFC William Laws. The question itself was legit just because not everyone has such a broad perspective but I agree the refusal to budge on his position was pretty crazy.

SSG James Palmer IV I completely understand what you mean. I agree that it is scary however there are many examples of leaders who may have had a toxic mentality in the past, but after a few eye-opening situations, they become outstanding leaders (Malcolm X comes to mind).

I just hope that discussion was one of those times when a leader's perspective was broadened and corrected.

There are certain things that you just know are ridiculous. "Should a jr. enlisted stand at parade rest for an NCO/PO's wife"???? Yeah, I'm all about spreading knowledge, but I'm good with calling this one ridiculous. One needs to engage the brain at a most basic level....and someone who's one promotion list away from being a senior NCO shouldn't be asking a question like this.

If we all vote YES! Let SSG Woods wear a prom dress to the Army Ball.....do you think they'll shut this thread down and archive it? Cuz if so...I can think of a lot of ways to get people to vote that way..........

To me this seems too much like calling fellow members out for creating the topics being highlighted here. Sure, some may be silly, but it seems like kind of a dick move to create a topic purely to poke fun at this. <br>

I would also agree. It just seems like a "Why don't you know this? You opinion doesn't matter and I know all." kind of thing. Why would one argue what is ridiculous. What is ridiculous is that some topics are only made popular by people trying to stop them.

Generally the ones that make me shake my head are the tin foil hat "what would you do if Obama ordered you to take everyone's guns and give them to the gays so they can run around and steal white christian babies" posts that were really popular for a while there... They still pop up on occasion, but they seem to have died down for the moment...

But the Army Times told me that the President was going to take away my pay to give it to Radical Muslims who have been sacrificing those white christian babies in an attempt to destabilize the American economy and help Russia restart the Cold War.  Are you saying that's not true SSG Hasbun?

The Army Times?! Not that liberal commie trash! The only true source of news is Fox News! As a matter of fact, I just heard on Fox News that that show "Cosmos" was Obamas socialist experiment to discredit Christianity. Bill O'Reilly said that the earth was CLEARLY made in China, because if you look on the bottom of the globe, you can clearly see it stamped there! Sure enough, I looked underneath my globe, and there it was! Plain as day! Suck it science!

LOL.. =)

Hey I don't think my question about NCO's is ridiculous! &nbsp; It's about 50/50 on yes or no and we've found that a lot of people don't know what some basic words mean. &nbsp; If anything it's forced a lot of people to research the origin and history of the NCO in our Army as well as others! &nbsp; You are forgiven for your lapse in judgement, Non Command Sergeant Major. &nbsp;;-)

Always a hater in the midst! &nbsp;Aint no shame in my game. &nbsp;I have by far the most down votes on this site and you see where I'm sitting. &nbsp;Thats because I keep it real and don't contour my comments to fit anyone's votes. &nbsp;I say what I mean and it seems to be appreciated by most. &nbsp; My butt feels just fine (so my wife says)

Even though I am far exceeded by CPT (Join to see) and LTC (Join to see) on LTs saluting and standing at attention for each other,

I'll fess up and add my own ridiculous satire:

SSgt Olson, I tried using the ceiling fan to shave once, it took me three weeks and 16 bottles of meclizine to get over the dizziness. And you are right, the shave wasn't nearly as close as the one I got from my lawn mower.

I pretty much only shave when I have something special like a job interview or something. Even with that, I keep a goatee and mustache. I have kept the goatee and mustache ever since I retired.
