This is an interesting article about how Muslims are assimilating in the Bible-belt. Apropo considering recent interests in Islam/Muslims spurned by Dr. Carson's ill-received statement.

Thank for provoking a thought-provoking article CPT Ahmed Faried.
I believe there are well-meaning Muslims who have come to this country over the past few decades after escaping/immigrating from countries where corruption runs rampant in Africa, Middle East, old Soviet republics and south Asia. People that want to become part of the melting pot that is known as the USA should be welcome and should feel welcome.
It is refreshing when people stand up for those they differ from. The opposite happened in Nazi Germany when the government divided and incrementally destroyed those they felt threatened by.
I have shared my Christian faith with Sunni and Shia Muslims in this nation in situations that would be unheard of and life-threatening for them and me in their homelands. For that I am thankful.
In other cases Wahhabi doctrine evangelists have deliberately established madrasas and settled quietly in communities in eastern Tennessee, Minnesota, Michigan, Virginia, etc. That developing situation and the idea of Muslims infiltrating to deliberately undermine communities is disturbing. I hope that all terrorists and their supporters are taken out as soon as possible.

Too much is at stake and every time a flag is trampled or burned,
every time a statue is knocked down over a confederate soldier
then liberals have crossed a line.
They will start choosing. Most of us hate cop on black crime.
Most also hate the cop killings and the Reverend Al.
Most whites are not rich and the Rebel Flag is not associated
with the KKK because those idiots will burn in hell.
In Graham, NC there were chants to knock down
a confederate statue and if that happened there would
have been violence. Many blacks were afraid to go
to the bars.
People were choosing sides based irrational thought.
Being duped by Supremacist of both races.
As I see it, we are one people. I find trigger words
distasteful but shills like Rev Al and Rev JJ are dangerous.
I do believe white cops shooting a black man in the back is wrong.
But beating up a young teenager and her five yeaar old brother
is just as bad.
So that is why you have so many southern whites to agitated
and ready to fight and they are. All of us do not need this
but even some blacks are siding with conservative whites.
Because we both share something, Military brotherhood
and most of all our beliefs.

I'm sure there are some that are willing to assimilate, but then there is Dearborn, MI. And we can't forget those that enter the country and continue to believe Sharia is the better choice of law. Assimilate? Nah, not all of them.
