I was medically retired this Jan 2015, and tried for one more deployment because I prefer to meet my end with dignity then to be in pain asking for help. Last act of fighting.

There was a time when I wanted to, but not now. After I retired it took me about two years to get it out of my system. Now I wouldn't want to go back because I know I couldn't do the complete job because of physical conditions. I do think about the places and wonder about some of the people I met there, but no, I don't care too much for the beach I've had enough sand.

SSG John Caples - That's because I've sent standards for myself and I can no longer meet those standards physically. I believe in leading from the front and I can no longer meet my standards. I will not disrespect my rank, my service, my Army, my country by not meet those standards. I've seen too many who hung around long after they should have packed it in. If you read my response to SSG Warren Swan, I pointed out if they wanted me back in the physical shape i'm in and know I can't ruck it no more, ok. But I have my standards and know what my limitations are now. I appreciate your reply in explaining the down vote and I understand where you come from.

SGM, I meant nothing by that in a disrespectful way , it's just that I packed it in as you say for 7 yrs. without saying anything about my physical limitations that medically retired me..... If I kept on listening to the Army Dr.'s I would be in worse shape than I am now. But I wouldn't trade none of all that pain and distress on me for nothing in this world and if my brother's need me and I can go in and be there right beside them helping in the fight I will and will defend my brother to the left and right of me until my last breath

SSG John Caples - I know you didn't, I could tell by your post. I'm still in the Retired Reserve and if they called and needed me, yea, I'd shave my face and report ASAP.

There are times ibwish I could go back. I feel like there was something more I was supposed to do. I have disability rating of 50% and would hate to be away from those I love for as long as I used to

There are lots of companies hiring for almost every job field, paying more than you normally get stateside. If you want to get up to date info on it, you can PM me.
