Everything! But, they are/were troopers and are as much a veteran as I am....They were born in the Army, and the Army is all they ever knew... Many moves, many adventures...

I love that for seven years running (since the oldest one could walk) I get tackled and smothered with kisses every time I come home.
It is a contact sport between the oldest two... but they always get out of the way to let the youngest (Michael - 2 yrs old) in for his turn.

It never gets old.

I have two grown kids - one a dedicated elementary school teacher who is passionate about helping kids. The other is a trying to get into a Phd program where he can work on stuff to improved the lives of others - he once wanted to work on bio-prosthetics that linked the brain to artificial limbs. Both kids seem to have the right view of life in trying to help others - that is what I love the most, that sense of greater purpose.

My kids are both teenagers now. I have a girl (15) and a boy (13).

Both of my kids know the LORD and both still want to have something else to do with their daddy. They are both Civil Air Patrol Cadets. My son is my best friend, my best adviser, and my motivation.

My best single piece of advice to young parents is this..."Always have time for your child." When that kids comes up with an art project from school that looks like a modern art masterpiece, take a minute to let the kid explain it to you. Let your kid talk to you and have you listen. If you will listen to the kid while he is a cold, runny-nose three year old, then that child will still be coming to you for the rest of your life.

That they both became fine young men with a sense of honor, duty and commitment. Couldn't ask for two better sons. I'm a very lucky father.

That my kids love books more than toys I seem to have a library in my daughter's' room and more books than I can count

I love that my son will place himself between bullies and those being bullied, he will give you the shirt off his back without thought or hesitation.
I love my daughters passion and her drive for excellence. I love that she gives everything she has to accomplish the task no matter how great or small.
