I was sure someone would have addressed this issue by now but I will work on it now, maybe I am a trailblazer!

This morning on FOX there was discussion about how we are sending officers and Soldiers home from theater to become civilians due to the draw down. However they played it against the POTUS request for $$$ to support the immigration issue. Disappointing that the media or policy players would try to correlate this, but reality is we needed a integrity check for retention for the future numbers of all branches anyway.

The two issues only have budget $$$ to link them. However streamlining the Army with selective retention boards is a process that has been around for years as is the promotion board system. While trimming it is best to retain the highest quality and those based on demonstrated historical performance (some would disagree based upon OER/NCOER fairness threads).

What is your opinion of having Officers and Soldiers receiving ETS orders (pinks) while forwardly deployed?

Downsizing the force via troops in combat zones?

I just came across this article and found it interesting. I would think that they would stray away from those that are deployed so as to not disrupt combat operations. What are your thoughts?
