Just be an adult. Remember you were a Senior NCO before you went, so act like it. I came from being a Drill Sergeant and Senior NCO to being the Stands Officer and the class leader. I had people tell me I was treating them like a “Private.” No, I am just telling you what you need to do to succeed and “play the game. You were an E-7 last week. Act like it.”

Best of luck. Work on getting along with your classmates, and those you can't, just be civil and keep your distance. Remember you're only there for a month.

The biggest curriculum change that has happened recently happened last year. There is no longer a Phase 1. So regardless of PME history, it's a 5 week course. Other than that, just be professional and stay motivated, and you'll do fine. Good luck!

CW2 (Join to see) Oh Wow!, so how the process now looks like from selection notification to graduation/appointment to W01? Do people now just get selected and then wait to report to WOCS without having to do anything else?

CW2 Louis Melendez - There's just no more Phase 1, so the folks who get selected don't have to do the DL course or the 7 week course anymore. Everyone gets funneled through the 5 week version. After selection, you will get enrolled into blackboard, and you still have to maintain correspondence with the TAC Officers and class mates to hash things out like duty assignment, coin, T shirt etc. before the report date. After that, report to WOCS and do your thing.

Uh, not showing up. Just kidding. Congrats and good luck to you. Always remember your crew. Keep them alive and they will do the same for you. I have over 5000 hours in eight years of crewing Huey's and Hawks. Go DUSTOFF if you can. More flight time.

Make sure you in good shape which sounds like you are. You will meet people that don't want to listen at first. It's all a game play the game. I was a former Drill Sergeant when I went so I was the didn't First Sergeant for the first three weeks. I never told the TACS though they knew at First WOC. JUST BE YOU AND YOU WILL BE FINE. All test are closed book and it's mostly about history unless they have changed since I went on 2009.

There are none! Ensure you are fit, Soldier up, study, and be disciplined. Thank you for your service.

Looking back on this and answering my own questions; I would say that everything you need to succeed is all around you. The knowledge, experience and professionalism of the 80 or so Warrant Officer Candidates is virtually limitless. The most trying aspect is managing the personalities. My advice to anyone walking this path is to be proactive, but remember that you are not an NCO anymore. Don't end up in the bottom 3!

Ensure you are in good shape and know land navigation—most classes are intact until land navigation test day.
