What article from your military career would you put in the RallyPoint time capsule? TA-50, war trophies, souvenirs, etc. I'm starting with a dehydrated pork patty from the old dark brown MRE's. In 50 years, it will taste the same.

A Lackland Laser (remember those, AF veterans?), and a complete set of the Russian FLAMRIC books - all seventy pounds of them!

SFC Mark Merino - Neither Arabic nor Dari are that difficult. Once you can grasp the initial logic, the rest follows. Even the alphabet makes sense, difficult as that may seem to understand

SFC Mark Merino - nope, sorry. I learned both Arabic and Dari while deployed and training foreign armies. Learning their language helps -- especially if you're going with them on live ops.

My "teacher" speaks very good English but my brain is my biggest enemy. Apparently, there is a part of the brain for encoding new info like new languages and I left that in Iraq.

The 2nd ACR air cav unit transferred to Fort Lewis and I met up with them there. We became 4/6 ACS....then 4/6 ARS....now mothballed.

@ SSG Maurice P. Do NOT forget about the DUMPSTER DUCKS in Alaska. I still remember being told NOT to feed them alka seltzer tables because they will explode from the buildup of CO2 in their stomach. Those giant birds will circle around the trash dumps 24 hours a day.
