What article from your military career would you put in the RallyPoint time capsule? TA-50, war trophies, souvenirs, etc. I'm starting with a dehydrated pork patty from the old dark brown MRE's. In 50 years, it will taste the same.

One of those fat collars from the first BDU's
A can of Kiwi boot polish
A can of pound cake
a compass (seeing how every thing is going electronic)
my old sleeping bag cover with poncho liner inside (spent many night in this)
Last but not least, my old steel pot. So many more uses for it than just sitting on my head.

I'd find a bunch of random useless items and let them attempt to figure it out. I'm sure over the centuries many of the relics we've uncovered were used completely differently than we imagine them.

Hominy and Grits T-rat, when I dropped mine in the sand at Fort Lost in the Woods Missouri, it actually made it taste better. And what the heck is Hominy? Or, an old M16A1 lefty brass deflector, no all M16 family rifles didn't come with a built in one. That little add on would get ripped off in the woods, the very next round you fired went into your shirt...OUCHY!

SFC Marino...excellent point on the MRE...if I had a can of C-Rats White Bread would include it...otherwise probably my Nikon SLR camera from Stars and Stripes and some news clips....D

1SG Blount...not so sure...when we were kids in Panama in mid 60s, soldiers were still eating WWII C-Rat...we picked them up all the time from jungle training. What you couldn't eat would usually burn to keep mosquitoes away...no one could eat the White Bread nor would it even burn in a fire...scary stuff...and we still had WWII rations in the mid 70s at Ft McClellan!!
