Republican, Democrat, or other? What do we have more of here? What reasons do you like one party over the other?

I have heard that the majority of the military tend to support the Republican party, although I am sure it is not a complete landslide.
More recently it seems that the Libertarian party has gained a lot of ground among service members.
I am doing a survey to see which way people in this group lean but I would also like to hear everyone's opinions on why they like one over the other, or what would get them to change their minds, or what they do and don't like about each party.

I am a conservative both socially and economically. I think the government needs to get out of our lives as much as possible. If the politicians would read the Constitution and then abide by it, the country would be a lot better off. Let the federal government do the things provided in the constitution and leave the rest to the states and the people.

I actually am a registered member of the constitutionalist party, but because they do not have a group anywhere near me I am part of my counties local Republican party (which is all pretty much a bunch of constitutioanlists, tea partiers, and libertarians).

It takes more then formal education to determine which political candidate to vote for. If you don't start listening and investigating the candidates now by 2016 the only thing you will know about the candidates is what they want you to know. I vote for the most conservative person as a general rule.

Glad to see these Libertarian results, but do those who voted that way in this poll vote that way in elections?

I hate labels, but usually vote across the Republican line because I want my vote to count and we have never seen a Green party or Libertarian President. When will we abolish the two party system....I say let the best man for the job win... (or woman)

While I chose Libertarian, I actually don't identify with any specific political party, as I do not feel that any of them best represent my personal political views. The public needs to become more involved in what goes on in our country on a political level, instead of focusing on whatever sensationalist media tripe is currently the hot topic.

Libertarian, just because there is no choice for Centrist or Independent. Veterans' Party of America is a joke, with no real chance of becoming anything. It is too focused on Veteran related issues, and even the name of the Party is non-inclusive.
The Party Leadership is practically non-existent, and they have lost all momentum they once had when it first started. They can not even follow their own Party's By-Laws, and the State and Local Leadership doesn't even exist.
