Should a non-native Spanish speaker attend WHINSEC ILE?

Can anyone provide me feedback on their experience at WHINSEC ILE? I have a 3/2+ DLPT score and my branch manager asked if I was interested in attending. Problem is my speaking ability is average, however, I have 6 months to practice and get ready. Should I try and attend the course and risk falling behind? How have non-native traditionally preformed at WHINSEC? Thank you.

I speak and write fluent Spanish and I bet it would have been a challenge for me. I would suggest you apply. If there are any Puerto Rican, Latin Americans or Spaniard exchange officer slots left, I don't see why not. I know that very few get the active duty ILE. Hopefully, there will be no reverse discrimination at the schoolhouse. I have a Honduran-born Mother with a Basque Maiden name. Conway is Irish. I am a white-Hispanic that the U.S. Census does not consider. Vale la pena a registrar!
Here I am posing with my 86 year old Uncle at his house in the small town of San Marcos de Ocotepeque, Honduras. He lives 20km from the El Salvador border. He looks more French and with the last name of Rodezno, he would probably not be considered (had he been a a younger American Army Officer just because his last name doesn't sound very Hispanic when he is). I just hope someone at the schoolhouse reads this and allows people like you to apply and be accepted in the program.

Good advice.
Sir,
I would advise to call WHINSEC and speak to one of their ILE staff members.
When I was assigned to WHINSEC, 90% of the time we spoke Spanish.

Inbox me I have a POC that is currently in the course that might be able to provide some guidance.
