With private shower and shitter facilities and a fireguard or camera watching entrance and exit locations to protect the innocent since not everyone is ethical at all times.

Last time I checked we are service members (I hate that term). The facts are that we are moving to co-ed units. In the current arrangements we are running at estimates between 50-75% MST. The numbers vary because of under reporting. I have yet to find a female troop who has never felt sexually harassed. I am sure she will post next.
So the choice is fully commit and face the complexities full on, or sidle into the pool one toe at a time.
Yes there will be issues but we deal with those by being good leaders and role models. We listen and teach and lead and in the end it will be come as natural as a black, Hispanic, oriental or Hawaiian in the living area.

I deployed to Kuwait with a 150 person Port Security Unit in 2003... with 60 females. We got there and were given two 100-person tents. We split up, 75 people in each.
No pregnancies, no illicit schtupping, no shenanigans, just 150 people that were professional about how they went about business.
I've told Senior NCO's from other services about this and their heads damned near explode, and then they go on to explain how it's impossible.
It's a matter of leadership and professionalism - end of story.

A courtesy doesn't require a down vote. Grow up and and debate the topic. The down vote was a courtesy.

I believe that the Sergeant First Class has showed much more class and maturity than you, Roger. I shared an anecdote - as did she - one that fit the theme very well - and you call her out and make personal attacks for it? Yeah - classless.

Sorry MCPO Roger Collins, but the only person here who is showing signs of needing to mature is yourself. Until you started the belittling there was nothing unprofessional or disrespectful in this post. Then you also complained about a down vote and returned the favor as a courtesy which is a fine example of maturity if I've ever seen it.
