Some past presidents have suggested they may not attend. H.W. gave health as a reason, he is 92. But what about others. Carter RSVP'ed.

Think it's more, a gesture of support for party & individual. Certainly no requirement to attend if they have neither.

The question should be "Will Obama ever go away!"

Wow a totally photoshopped pic with them as they pretty much appeared in office. That aside, I'd hope the formers are Presidential enough to do their best to attend. I'd understand if HWB can't make the journey due to his deteriorating health. I'd love to see him skydive in like he did tandem style for his birthdays.

As respect to the Office of the President and Commander in Chief I think they should, with exception to health restrictions like H.W. Bush has or similar circumstances.
