During endurance mobility PRT session, it seems that more and more SM are falling into profile group. Is it fair permanent profile SM receive the same amount of pay that personal not on profile receive, being that they are not fully capable?

Absolutely not and I honestly can't believe that an NCO brought this question up. After a lifetime of service to this nation parts of me are no longer working the way they were when I first started but that does not make me any less of a leader.
I pray that you are never wounded in combat and must obtain a permanent profile because apparently you believe that the sacrifices of so many great soldiers are worthy of a pay reduction.

Although PT is an important aspect, it does not in anyway measure the worth of a Soldier. Many SMs that at one time were PT studs with a 300 on their APFT are now worn down and on a profile. If a lower enlisted Soldier who already has a hard time supporting his family with his check has a profile, do you think we need to make it harder on him by taking more money out of his pocket? Washington has already been cutting our pay and benefits. Many SMs in the lower ranks already qualify for government assistance the way it is. It's one thing to promote height and weight standards, but to promote cutting pay because of an injury that a Soldier has no control over is just plain wrong. I've never been on profile and I maintain the PT standard, but I don't agree with penalizing a Soldier for an injury they have no control over. As long as they are maintaining the standard as prescribed, that is what matters.

SSG James Vielle, evidently PRT's are a hot button with you and that is your right. However, to want to penalize others because of your personal hot button is not fair nor does it indicate good leadership traits. What if my personal hot button was marksmanship, would it be right for those who did not fire expert to be singled out for a cut in pay? I mean after all military personnel are suppose to fight and that definitely includes marksmanship.

Absolutely not! I've served this country for almost 18 years and no I'm not on a permanent profile or for that matter only had a profile once in my career after knee surgery. At 36 I'm not able to do the things I did at 19 but I make a heck of a lot more money now than I did then.

I once made a young E6 Ranger of mine carry a shovel around with him for a week because he needed to always have it handy to dig himself out of the holes his mouth seemed to get himself into. Will somebody PLEASE give this SSG a shovel!

SSG (Join to see) - SSG Vielle, I for a brief moment looked down upon profiles myself..... Then this PT loving female had to get profiles of her own. Karma has a funny way of smacking you right in the face! Respect those for what they contribute, and realize we are all just human beings and are born to eventually break down and die!!!!!!!

I'd say that since many injuries stem from soldiers putting the mission first despite their physical limitations, thus causing the permanent profile, then no they shouldn't get paid less.
I can't imagine telling a MSG who slipped a disk in her back from jumping out of planes one too many times that she will now get paid less due to the wear and tear the Army placed on her body.
