The Army is the only service to wear unit and combat patches? Should they simplify the uniform and remove unit patches? "shoulder sleeve insignia".

I understand in some uniforms services may wear a patch. I'm talking about the every day uniform.

No but non combat arms troops should have their own patch. I know who they are when they always name the parent unit but not go any deeper into the chain of command.

Are you suggesting that Soldiers who are assigned to a unit such as the 101st Airborne Division (or whatever unit you want), should have a different patch because they aren't in combat arms?  Seems a little ridiculous to me.  Keep in mind where your bullets, water, food, communications and other support items come from when you need them.  To tell non-combat arms Soldiers welcome to whatever unit here is your non-combat arms style unit patch would reduce the the esprit-de-corps cross the unit.

Maybe it does to you but I can smell a REMF by the way they use the chain of command and quite frankly it annoys me when they conflate their service with that of the poor bastards that where out humping the boonies. If they want a combat patch let them earn it. What kind of espirit de corp do they need, they're not the poor sleep deprived bastards that had to sleep out in the boonies with immersion foot and cloth's rot off them.

That is why there is a CIB and a CAB, I have had the honor of slinging rounds shoulder to shoulder with logistions. and they faught just as hard as my Infantry platoon. We all need each other out there to survive. I have a Ton of pride being an infantryman we do a lot but with out the support kind of hard to do our job. But yes that comes with time and experience that not many junior enlised grab the concept of.
