Please do not comment if you are still serving in the Military in some capacity; a/o where potentially your job, livelihood, or position could be at risk.

Oh hell know…
Critical race theory is racism at its finest. It serves no one except those who want to cry because life isn’t fair, and believe everything should just be handed to them. There is no real racism in America to speak of, but there a few misguided souls out there who don’t have their heads screwed on right but not enough to rise to CRT which is I in a class of its own.

SPC Darren Coffenberry - Not sure you can "read" CRT any more than you can read physics or math.

PFC David Foster - He's probably just trying to say you got things mixed up. Not fair to dyslexics, but there it is.

SPC John Tacetta - Agreed, but i do believe it is racism as well. Anthing to divide the colors in the box to keep them in line. Me, myself, i will defend my oath until they end my heart beating. Good day SPC.

Nonsense, brother. It is simply a topic of learning that helps explain our circumstances. Do not fear knowledge.

It's an important topic in historical or social context. In classes regarding those two subjects, then absolutely. Especially since there seems to be a vast ocean of disinformation and ignorance out there regarding what, exactly, CRT is.

Do not teach CRT. It has numerous falicies and is taught in a way to make you response to the word white or whitish in a negative manner. I read a training document from Columbia university for educators to use. It was disturbing to say the least. Too long for me to explain in comments but I will highlight a few. Using the word white in a negative manner an average of 11 times per page of a 14 page document. Students have to accept theory as fact before having a real discussion on race. How the teachers are taught responses that would shut down any natural discussions about the theory. Like student isn't ready or capable of comprehending theory, etc. All worded in way that makes it hard to dispute and will stop student from further discussion. It assumes white people are all oppressors and minorities oppressive or victims but doesn't account for other senereo's like women or men privledge or rich priledge due to it going against the main theory of it only white people. It lumps peopleninto a category of a way of thinking. This can be offensive to some perple regardless of race or color. All white people have to accept theory in order to acheive success. This isnt the right training. I agree their is systemic racism and white privledge can exist but it can only exist when a person thinks that way and they extend priveldge onto another person. It's not natural. We are not born with it. Priveldge comes in many forms but CRT is directed only at white people. We should be teaching that we need to look at our bias or filters to make sure we are not using these when making decisions about personel or that affect personel. To challenge ourselves and our way of thinking. I do this all the time. How I resolve is by switching the race in any senereo. It's the easiest way to know for sure. We need to teach about systemic racism without labeling people today. That is only teaching more discrimination. I for one refuse to be told how I think. This doesnt stop me from questioning my actions, biases or filters I might view the world through. CRT has made this very difficult to improve from where we are today. Using the past to form assumptions today isn't the way forward.

No, I don't see how CRT would be relevant to war fighting capability. The military exists to fight and win our Country's wars. Period. It is not a SJW experimental lab, it is not a woke organization. I'm not saying CRT is a good or bad thing, it simply has no place in learning the arts of leadership or the art of war.

As a retired member of active and reserves and 24 years as an educator in civilian life I have one question. What is the ultimate objective of teaching CRT? What is to be accomplished? Teaching the history of America is understandable . What is to be accomplished by shaming a person or requiring that person to answer for the inhumane acts committed centuries before they were even born. To do this is in itself racism. Keep in mind CRT is a Theory based on historical events. It attempts to describe those people who share race or cultural backgrounds with those who committed inhumane acts based on race or culture are predisposed to committing these same atrocities . This is not fact it is conjecture and attempts to extrapolate events to predict future behaviors based on genetics. Seems like an attempt to keep the conflict alive.

No. We had a discussion on critical race theory in one of my social work courses. In a nutshell, critical race theory states that racism is endemic in all aspects of American culture, government and society. Everything must be examined for discrimination against non-whites. It's not what I learned when I was enlisted in the Army, which was that there was only one color: green. If you're from a different branch of service, substitute an appropriate other color.

No it’s a bunch of crap. Once a Soldier you become Brothers and you have to depend on each other. I’m against anything that would be a hindrance to that bond.

No, not at all. Teach what actually happened, then yes! Teach guilt and sorrow that you can only be what your color says, then no. CRT seems to only teach victimization and guilt. No thank you. Too many examples of overcoming what people “should “ have been to follow that that course.
