Should we condone verbal abuse on a site which bills itself as a professional networking site?

So, I was reading posts on this site and I found them rather disgusting. How in the world do you excuse calling a sister-in-arms, a Cun*? Or threatening to pound a person in the face, of subordinate rank regardless of branch? Where has our professionalism gone? I am quite certain, harassment of another person because you don't agree with their opinion is about as low life as one can get. If this is how a "PROFESSIONAL NETWORKING SITES" are ran, count me out. Nothing from what I just saw within the last couple of weeks is at all appropriate, let alone "professional".

We shouldn't condone verbal abuse anywhere. It isn't professional, it isn't moral, it's abuse. Plain and simple. Honestly, if the people doing it on a Military networking site are active duty, and do it after being warned, their chain of command should probably be involved.

Woah. I have seen a few smart-ass comments on here, some have been straight-up out of line, but never anything as blatant as mentioned here. I definitely strongly encourage anyone who sees that to use the reporting feature and alert an admin. This isn't that kind of site.

I disagree. If it has been dealt with, then we should not have a continuing of the behavior. I have been appalled and with civilians who are paid members of this site, we must look pretty bad to these folks.

Like I said, the problem is well-known and being addressed. It was bad and regrettable and will be dealt with in the future severely.

Take it with a grain of salt. In the history of the whole internet will you find a site that is 100 percent free of idiots. Just know what you are getting into when it comes to a Military only social site. Take care brother!

I wish I could SFC James. I am fiercely loyal to my friends and I would never want to see them upset because someone whose an E-8 who ought to know better about referring to a subordinate as a Cun*. I am not fond of personal attacks of parents or when people call your civilian employer because you happen to be in reserve status and put that person in a bad way with their employer... These are not occurrences to shake off. These affect people's lives and it is inappropriate.

You know what.... you're darn right. We shouldn't have to put up with name calling, especially that name! I think we need to police each other up, with out hindering free speech. Maybe some "Screen Grabs" and send to the the Admins. Let them chew these people up and boot them off of here. SGT (Join to see)

And this is the point I was hopping to make. I love my freedom of speech... but I would never call you an inappropriate name because I may not agree with you. In fact, I do respect a healthy debate... I might even have a change in heart about in a week... but, I will respect you for it...

Lt Scott D. Most unverified members are respectful. Some verified member are NOT. Taking an action on a group because of the actions of one or a few is wrong.

No we should not! I must be living in a bunker because I have not seen any of this at all. I suppose it all depends on what discussions one decides to get involved in? Anyway, Verbal abuse or any other type of abusive activity should not be allowed on a professional site like RallyPoint. SF!

RP is probably the most well behaved site I know for military discussion, its the only one I use. Pretty much any other military site I have read or posted on does not police at all, people say what they want when they want and no one cares.

Bring forth the nay-sayers & I shall bring down the wrath like the hammer of Thor upon the heads of frost giants from Jotenheim!!!
Or, rather, I shall see to it that they are dealt with so that we do not have to put up with it for long.

You are correct to expect "professionals" to be professionals. We condem bullying and name calling in our daily interactions but then I see that some are basically saying its OK, look the other way, dont bother. That is a double standard.
