"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Just thinking about this some more, perhaps the Army can begin to issue teddy bears and security blankets upon graduation from Basic.

I know that there was a BCT in the 101st that wanted to do this. As a soldier who takes pride having served in that historic unit, it made me think, what is our military truly coming to?

Was this idea from the same person who initiated "stress cards"?

No, are Special Ops Units going to start letting non operators wear the tab, because they feel left out? If you earned it, you should be allowed to wear it.

NO NO NO!!! Are we to bow to the sensitive?!? IF we then do that... whats next, removing ribbons and metals from our 'A's because crybaby attitude, undisciplined and unmotivated, dont have the same... I know... lets all be the same, remove rank, and any distinction for airborne, or marksman, service stripes, no APFT score cards.

I would hope their leadership takes this opportunity to mentor the young soldiers and teach them what the real world is all about. Especially, to instill in them that honors are earned and not just given out to make a few feel better and not "left out" in order to spare their fragile feelings. I'm sure the young soldiers will get their chance sooner or later to prove themselves and to earn their own combat patches.

Maybe the E1 and E2's that are complaining about not having a patch need to be taught what the real world is. I would hope that leadership would use this opportunity to do some mentoring and teach them that honors are earned and not just given away just so they don't feel "left out" and have their delicate feelings injured.

Didn't have to worry about BS like this when patches were sewn on.
