"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get ‪‎hurt feelings‬.

Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Heck no!! Are you kidding me? Should we make the the guys with CIBs and CABs remove them so they don't make guys who haven't earned them feel ashamed? Should we outlaw Jump Wings and Air Assault badges? What about Tan and Maroon berets? And don't forget about Ranger and Sapper tabs! How about Drill Sergeant and Recruiter patches, those might make someone feel uncomfortable too. Why not remove all ranks while were at it?! I would hate for a Private or Specialist to feel bad that they aren't a Sergeant First Class or a Captain.

The only school I attended that you wore no rank or patch was Ranger School in 1968.

I think that if we earned to right to wear a deployment patch, ranger tab, Sapper, airborne then we should be able to wear it. Earn what you wear. If you envy it then work hard and get what you want

Absolutely not, if anything it will make the young soldiers eager to deploy to become a member of a very unique fraternity. This is some rose petals and sugar plum type of decision based on care bears and unicorns farts.

Not just that... these new troops have been growing up with Pokémon as their role models... they need to go hunt some merit badges somewhere else, or wait to go to war, and earn it!

What is next? Remove everything? Yes, we should remove all of our badges and ribbons so new folks don't get their feelings hurt too.

Only if I was Darth Vader I'd be doing virtual choking from Anchorage. "I find your lack of common sense disturbing".
