Should we remove combat patches to be sensitive to those who don't have them?

"(Unit Name withheld) BCT ordered to remove combat patches during training at Fort NoMatter so the ones without them don't get hurt feelings.
Reason? "The unit just returned from Afghanistan and almost everyone has a patch but the large influx of new soldiers are E1 and E2s that have never deployed and they are saying they are left out because they don't have a patch."

Since when are E-1s and E-2s able to dictate what and who can wear a combat patch. Staff NCO's and officers need to control this situation and remember who is in charge.

The combat path is earned. When the new soldiers get in a situation to earn one they can wear it. Otherwise do not take pride of what they earned from them because some is sad about not having one.

When I entered the Army in 1964 there were WW 11 vets still on active duty as well as Korean War vets with a time in grade of 1952 . They had Combat patches and I had no desire or envy in my heart . I earned my own three years later on Vietnam . I don’t think anyone has tried for one , they happen if you were there !

I'm an E-3, and I don't have one
I don't have hurt feelings, I will earn mine.

This seems an awful lot like a clickbait topic, since no veteran actually thinks that's a good idea
