So what do you propose to do that hasn't already been implemented to prevent bad people from accessing guns?

I just had a really long conversation, but no one could answer this question for me that were wanting more limits on gun access? We have background checks, lots of paperwork, laws in place to prevent those already labelled as insane or criminal from being able to access guns yet here we are. I pointed out that not all crazy is easily shown from the outside look at Ted Bundy.

I think a good idea to implement reasonable gun control would be to start with denying Democrats the ability to own or carry firearms. I think that is a good compromise which permits the Democrats to deny citizens their second amendment rights, Keeps the guns out of most criminal hands, and permits Republicans to keep their guns.

SCPO (Join to see) - I said your comment was harsh, man. It just seems that you are attacking personally. Your opinions are as valid as anyone else's. Just trying to get some context.

Once again we beat a dead horse! By definition a criminal does not care about any law any government entity makes, laws are only followed by honest people.
If someone that owns or had possession of a gun flips out there is nothing that can be done until a law is broken!
There was a reason that our forefathers wrote the Second Ammendment!

I am a fan of some of the cop shows on TV. In cases where a firearm is recovered, say a vehicle stop, and the serial is run, surprise, 90% of the time the firearm is stolen. Since felons and certain others (some of which I strongly disagree with) are prohibited from own AND/OR possessing any type firearm they obviously are unable to walk into Granny's Gun Store and purchase something, the only avenue open is to either steal one or buy one on the street. Go figure, criminals committing crimes!

SPC Britanny *Winnie* Balthaser I propose we ask the following question: If gun control works so well, why does the Prime Minister of Great Britton require an armed security detail?

Having lived in Britain for some time (and having an English wife), there is no gun-ban in Britain. It was a buy-back. A buy back that is still on going. You can still purchase guns in the UK. In fact, just two years ago a new gun range opened up across the street from mother and father in law's apartment. So the UK does not have a gun ban. There are tons o' restrictions, but not a ban.

Can't help but chuckle on that one. One of California's biggest anti-gunner politicians is Diane Feinstein. She holds a CCW and carries on a regular basis. Good enough for her but not for the rest of us pions.

A lot of gun control countries have leaders with armed security. Check out Germany and Australia. Yet in Switzerland where you are required to own a weapon they have a very low crime rate. Or how about if you take out the US major cities, our murder rate would drop significantly.

I despise Feinstein but I have to correct you on something. When Feinstein first announced she had a CCW, she received a lot of hate and backlash from the anti-gunners. So to prove a point, she got rid of her CCW. However, she hired personal security with guns and a few years ago, California passed a bill allowing House and Senate leaders to carry a gun without CCW requirements. They, of course, exempted themselves from having to follow any laws.
