A manager at a Veterans Affairs medical center in Georgia is on leave with pay following his indictment on 50 counts of ordering his staff to falsify medical records of veterans waiting for outside medical care.
The case against Cathedral Henderson appears to be the first round of criminal charges stemming from a wait-times scandal that came to light last year and led to the resignation of VA Secretary Eric Shinseki.
Henderson, 50, was in charge of revenue and billing and chief of “purchase care” in Augusta, coordinating medical care for veterans that VA could not offer. He was responsible for ensuring that more than 2,700 veterans awaiting approval for care outside the system were properly referred to for doctor’s appointments.

What a bunch of lying bastards. I mean, WTF-Over! No wonder the VA is so screwed up. With incompetent idiots like this we don't stand a chance.

David, this makes me feel like I'm a piece of trash the VA system hasn't tossed out yet. Our new VA Secretary better correct this crap, if he has the nads to do it.

I hope so brother! It does need a good cleaning. Hell Keith, I know some real good cleaners that are CIA. They would clean the VA up in grand style!

The sad part is after one year in any VA position--an employee needs to mess up badly to get fired and then it is only if you do not play along with the forces which tell you--get with the program or we will find someone else who wants this position. There are many good people doing an excellent job among a few powerful ugly people who use their power negatively, this makes it difficult for anything to change. For the most part I have seen excellent work done by VA employees. The care in the private sector comes with the newest advances in technology and they do not hesitate to incorporate new treatments for people, the VA is extremely slow to adopt those same treatments because they do not have a "track record" to prove whether they are worth it. An example--when did Hepatitis C therapy filter down to those who should get it? An extremely expensive option but proven effective, Veterans will always be the last to get the cutting edge care which private insurance drives, we are a democratic society and money does influence how the world goes around.

The VA is a good example of a problem that doesn't autocorrect when you throw money at it. It needs guidance, and measurements to prevent corruption.

Pardon my language but FUCK THAT SHIT!
He committed a crime yet is suspended WITH PAY??? The VA "may take additional administrative action?"
I've said it before and I'll say it again. It's only lip service the VA is giving.

I also agree with Trump calling out his lack of interest in veteran affairs, and not agreeing with him questioning McCain's war record.

PO1 John Miller, Trump doesn't realize how much it took for all the POW's to stick together, helping each other 24/7, making up code signals with sticks to communicate, wearing the same rotten sticking clothes every day, no hygiene, trying to keep alive the ones dying, trying to stay out of solitary confinement, enduring all of those years of torture day after day, having your arms pulled up behind you so much your shoulders are useless, and then come home to a hostile nation, being called all kinds of names, and going on to make something of yourself in politics. No way Trump, the draft dodger with a little bitty toe problem, could endure one day of what those ( "Captured Losers" ) went through. He screwed the pooch with me when his arrogant mouth said those things about McCain. Being a POW and a public figure in politics are two separate entities. IMO

PO1 John Miller, as much as I respect McCain for serving honorably, good luck on getting a straight answer, if you get an answer at all.
