With the recent amount of stolen valor it is hard to keep up with all the different threads being posted here on RallyPoint. From this point forward if you have a stolen valor question, comment, and or post, then add it here. The posts that currently exist will stay, as we don't want to lose the already existing discussion content. If you have started a stolen valor post prior to this and wish to have it merged to this one then feel free to let me know and I will merge that for you. The initial post will be gone but the discussion content will be merged to this posting.

I hope I never run into a fake Marine. I have ambitions that a conviction of assault and battery would severely hinder.

Maybe he did his collar that way because he thought it would better protect his neck against sword slashes... ; )

I looked his name up on AKO just to see... there is only a SPC by that last name, no others.

He has his U.S Flag on the wrong side / sleeve. Looking at where his patch is, he is showing that he is or has deployed without ever being attached to any unit, no unit patch (Ranger Joe).. He really looked all jacked up!!! Everything is wrong with his appearance.

What's up with the white ball cap? Since when do ACU blouses come with mandarin collars? Isn't that supposed to be a full color flag?

I've only run into a single wannabe in uniform. He was a local known turd that one of my officers arrested on traffic IN UNIFORM.
Having just been released from my final activation, they notified me and made their suspicions known. I went in and listened to his line of bullshit, asked him who his 1SG was, and got the "we just got a new one" line. I asked him where his unit was, and to his horror he chose the same Company I'd just been released from. The 1SG was my Platoon Sgt in Iraq.
The look on his face was priceless when I called him on my cell and the clown in ACUs could HEAR him on the other side of the glass.
I told him that I couldn't arrest him for impersonating a soldier, but that if I caught him again in uniform impersonating that one or several violations of the very thick Penal and Vehicle Code would be used to put him right back where he was today. Never saw him again.
