Abu Azrael – which roughly translates to ‘The Angel of Death’ – is purportedly the leader of a Shi’ite militia, the Imam Ali Brigade, a group fighting Islamic State in Iraq.
According to Vocativ he’s now become a cult figure on Iraqi social media, with several Facebook pages dedicated to him, posting photos of Azrael holding axes, waving swords, and even abusing the corpses of ISIS fighters.

Sir, What you've said isn't precisely accurate, I'm not defending him or trying to give any justifications at all, but I think the public do need to know the straight truth, Abu Azrael is NOT a member of any Iranian militia at all, he is a college lecturer, his real name is Ayob ( Jacob in English ) he did join the Iraqi para military which was and still known by the name of Al-Mahdi army who was and still and will always be anti-Americans due to the unjustified invasion of the US government against Iraq and the Iraqis in 2003 which the Iraqis are still trying to clean up the mess Americans caused to this country as you all know. He is now a member (not a leader) in the Imam Ali brigade whose fighting against ISIS which I and you think and know the fact that he is standing up for his country and his fellow Iraqi citizens and I'm sure you would have done the same thing that he is doing for your country and people.

We here praising him and worshipping this man but I guess many of us have never faced him or heard of him ever before! He was the number one man in our travers lists in Iraq from 2005-2009 and he's killed many of our brothers and sisters! He has been awarded the name of Angel of Death because of the things he did to many MIAs and the many that have fell to his wrath during our encounters with him in Iraq. He's no angel, he was Mahdi Army Commander who stood up against Americans and other allies, so please do your research before posting something like this! I know it's a free country and all but would you be okay if we post and praise Usama Bin Laden on here? I don't think so!

Interesting that the Iraqis need to prop up a characiture of a man in order to rally the men. Why not a good old-fashioned medal pinning on Soldiers who distinguish themselves with their exploits against ISIS?
