We have seen many things about our POTUS that many do not like about him, and while we have all had leaders we did not like, we could usually pick out a few things, or traits/characteristics you could use or emulate.

So, list the things you do like, keep it professional as always. What did momma say? "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say nothing all."

I'll start:
(1) President Obama broke the racial barrier. He earned an education, became a Senator and a lawyer and is now the President.
(2) He has given millions a hope that one day they can do something great, especially those from under privileged areas.

(3) He has largely supported the military until as of recently with the downsizing, which is inevitable in every decade, our leaders have to make cuts...we keep only the best and brightest, right?

(4) He is a very supportive husband and father, and we need strong father role models in today's society where fathers are as rare as a long term-marriage.

I believe he honestly wants good things for America...I don't necessarily agree with the way he is going about it.

(5) He authorized the killing of Osama Bin Laden.

I know there aren't many fans on RP, but if there is something you like, share it if you dare.

My retirement is back on track. My home price is back where it should be. The country is much better off now than when he took office despite the GOP filibustering almost ever effort made. Thanks Mr President!!!

I think he is doing great things for the country in improving economy, reducing unemployment and improving americans at home,I don't like his foreign policy and how the military has been degraded.

I like the fact that he ended two wars, made the unemployment rate low, made healthcare affordable, gas under two dollars and the other stuff the news is telling us

The news is lying to you. He did not "end" the wars, they are still going on, he just pulled American troops out. Unemployment is actually around 13%, the numbers you see do not include people whose benefits have run out and those who have left the workforce. Healthcare for most has gone way up and will only get worse. Gas prices have nothing to do with Obama, they went down due to Canadian tar sands oil production and American fracking (which Obama opposed). Also, let's not forget $18 Trillion in debt and on track to add more debt than all other presidents combined.

ok @ PO1 Dan Patrick.......if the news is lying to me, where are you getting your facts from????? Also, last time I checked American was already in debt before President Obama stepped into the office. I really feel like people always expressing their opinions against the president but don't nobody want to step in his shoes for the day and see what it is like.

I gotta hive him credit for authorizing the Bin Laden strike. Crossing border into a country we aren't at war with is a tricky situation. I'm not sure the previous three presidents would have done it.

That said, I think the *intent* of Affordable Healthcare Act is noble and timely, HOWEVER the political compromises have resulted in a system that is more expensive by adding an additional two levels of bureaucracy (State and Federal) to an already expensive and bloated Healthcare system.

Likewise the administration's *intent* for gun control legislation (i. e. requiring responsible *common sense* gun sales, background checks are already in place in Texas so I would assume everywhere else) was ineffective, and actually counter productive because it motivated millions of gun sales to people who are not trained, competent, or responsible (i.e. the idiots at the range that makes you leave early).

I cannot bring myself to believe that his intent is to undermine America's religious, political, or free trade traditions and laws. To do so for me personally is to admit that our founding father's "Democratic experiment" has failed, ant it's hard to stamp the richest, most powerful country in the world a failure.

I AM more cynical about the intelligence of the American VOTER though... I was flabbergasted in 2008 when a Senior senator with a track record of voting his conscience sometimes in opposition to his own party, and a Veteran and former POW lost to a Charismatic Junior Senator with little experience during a time of war.

I was less shocked during the 2012 election. I was apathetic about the Republican ticket that year... it it really concerns me that that was the best Republican the country could come up with.

Very well said. And factual. Too bad others can't think this clearly without hate clouding their judgements.

I like nothing about him. I respect the office and position. I believe he was elected purely because Americans (most) are ill-informed and believe everything the talking heads on TV say. I also believe Americans were tired of the way things were in America (defined as the GOP at the time), so they wanted a change; hope and change. Not one thing that he said he would do, did he do. He does what he wants to do, which is in large part what the party wants and what is good for all of us. I think, now as his second term winds down, even his supporters are realizing he has no clue, and is simply a bad president. I do like the fact that he is term limited, but I am sure he will make an executive order soon to allow himself to run again. What were people thinking? Whatever happened to picking the best qualified.
