Admittedly, this is more of a statement than a question. You see there are a few people who have made some valid points regarding the potential value of a civilian presence here or RP. However, I am still not sold on the idea (as if I have any say). It would go a long way of the civilian population would make a little more effort when it comes to their profiles. The way I see it, you are guests here. If
You really want to be taken seriously tell us about yourself. I take the time to look and see who is commenting on things tha interest me. If I open your profile and there is basically nothing there that identifies you, I am moving on. I am very curious to see what others think.

I may look like a civi...but I did paid for my fair share in the military just like you; hahaha and now my two son's are in the military...I kind of agree with you but again that is up to whomever is running the RP how much they are going to let civilians get on here and bring their point of view. Hope you friend me or add me to your contacts...lol

It is nice to know where we civilians stand and that our support is not want or appreciate. Does the military train rudeness or were you born with it? I was married to a military person and trust me those so called civilians your married to pay their dues back here being both mom and dad, acting like everything is perfect when our world is upside down as well. At least we offer support if it isn't wanted fine but rude ...really representation is as important as presentation. I must say after reading some of the comments made by the 9 military personnel I have was anything but proud. Rude is Rude. Thank you SFC and the other 8 for putting the rest of us in our meager places.

Traci Priest, this is a community for veterans and those currently serving, or atleast that's what most of us thought when signing up. I know that I sure as hell didn't join up to hear from military dependents. if I wanted that I'd poke my head into an FRG group on facebook. What you call rude I call servicemembers expressing a sense of betrayal from those who run this site by allowing your presence.

Since I'm responding here, "Servicemember/civilian," why do you list yourself as such? If you served in the past then you qualify for the "V" veteran tag next to your name like I have next to mine. Keeping your name and rank private is understandable to me, but if you truly served then your account should reflect that.

SFC Christopher Perry, I have the same wariness regarding unconfirmed military members with considerable time on the site. Are they really who they say they are?

That is on any site and very understandable as to why you feel that way but it did not come across that way (like texting) .... we are just as wary with so many scammers using service members names and photos. I came to this site hoping it was more credible. I wanted to find out exactly what support is needed more than others, how can one help, show support without prying or stepping on toes, how do you ask without being insensitive? It is sad that it is the way it is . I want to focus on doing all I can not the cynicism of are they real or not real. You can be cautious without coming across like we're all the same. I understand those points SFC but please consider how it may be interrupted when past comments are not available to view, those brief comments will prevent one from looking at past comments the same as you did not want to read any further into who that person is because the lack of disclosure. How much do you disclose with what you are saying is more common than not? Your further explanation is understandable it just wasn't conveyed that why with the previous comments not displayed due to other comments that followed. I am sure you are not like that at all once you know the people are genuine. I apologize for not wanting to focus on the negative things that people do, I had to do that in my work for a long time I understand exactly what you mean but I want to believe that good people really do exist that is why I came to this site. That is it nothing more. I just wanted to give back as my youngest is enlisting and I know I want him to be support by the people he is putting his life on the line for what I am saying is that is the very least we can do for all that our enlisted people and there families give up and go through for us .
