I am an American Soldier. I will support and defend the constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. I take this part of my oath with the m o st seriousness. What I mean by that is I feel it is the most important. Will you stand by your oath? i.e if martial law is declared, and I am ordered to disarm American citizens then I will not obey that order because in my eyes it is treason. What are your thoughts?

I would not obey illegal commands, but would carry out legal commands. The Constitution is the highest law and enumerates the legal powers of the government.

A government that does not support and defend our constitution is an unlawful government and an invading force to be met by a armed militia IMO. Martial law is what Obama is itching to declare, he is so desperate to disarm America. Its his desperation that bothers me because I dont believe for a second that he cares at all about gun violence, look at Chicago. He is using the global warming issue for some other purpose...and anything he backs is most definetly not good for the Free people who live under our Constitution. Congress should drug test him and fire him when it comes back positive.

SSG (Join to see), as a Veteran that is truly a touchy subject. I think that it would depend on the circumstances. Martial Law does not necessarily mean breaking down every door in the neighborhood looking for nothing. The circumstances would have to be extreme for me to actively resist once Martial Law had been established.

SSG (Join to see) - I have to go from my area of Fairbanks, Alaska where over 2/3 of the population are Army, or Air Force. Curfews would be easily enforced. However, locking down any city for a week is almost unrealistic, except in times of an evacuation. Also, most people are just not prepared to go a whole week without getting something from the store.......Although up here, quite a few people (including myself) would be. When it would come to knocking down doors to confiscate private weapons/supplies, that would be my personal breaking point.

SSG (Join to see), enforce a curfew yes - but breaking into homes and disarming the people like they did in New Orleans after Katrina is clearly illegal and I would not be able to do it.

My Dad, in 1965 was working the Downtown L.A. County jail as a new deputy Sheriff. He remember the CAARNG in 1965 having a sign saying "make a left turn and get shot" just like in Iraq, some people did not obey the TCPs and they were fired upon.

I like to think most in green and blue will look out for the citizens and the Constitution they swore to. I figure we are a portion of the population more apt to care about honorable action and the spirit of sacrifice for our nation. Not obeying illegal orders can be a true sacrifice, as truth is treason in an empire of lies. We must remain loyal to the Constitution and the liberty of the American people, at all costs. I believe that is our duty, as we are a kind of fail safe. The machine can't obliterate and oppress if the cogs decide that's a definite no-go. Semper Fi!
