Did the flight attendant aboard US Airways commit such a huge offense by not hanging this Soldier's jacket? I think the smart thing for the stewardess to do would have been just to take the jacket and hang it up. At least she could have shown him that much respect. However, does it rise to such an offense that Judge Jeanine Pirro from Fox News says the airline should "lose the privilege of calling itself United States Air"? The airline did apologize after all and this is the mistake of an individual, not airline policy. So is this still a huge deal that the airline should pay for or just the act of a single employee?

Usually the hanging closet for jackets is for First Class passengers. He wasn't traveling in First Class from what I understand. I really don't get it when people get all bent out of shape if a military service member isn't given the white gloves treatment by a private company. Personally, I thought I joined up to serve, not to be served.

I'm thinking this particular flight attendant isn't the poster child for personal initiative....... I'm pretty sure her next evaluation will not be a promotion bell-ringer.....

She should have hung the jacket up just like everyone else's that she did on that flight.
My question to her is why she didnt

As others have stated. She was rude. Her job is customer service and safety. If there was room in the closet, she should have hung the jacket.

Then you run into the issue of "well you did it for him, why not for me?". You could argue because hes a servicemember or your not or what have you, but that would only serve to exacerbate the problem of people thinking we are self-entitled jerks.

Personally I think they should do it for everyone. If you have on a suit coat or other garment that will be wrinkled by wearing it during the flight, and there is room in the closet. Why not. As for service members being self-entitled jerks. We defend the nation, that is not self entitlement it is earned respect and gratitude. Whats more our uniforms are symbols of our nation, and our service to same. That makes the jacket of that 1sgt a hell of a lot more deserving of a spot in the closet, than some rich assholes Armani overcoat!

It's just a case of one rude ass unpatriotic liberal. Incidents like these are becoming all to often. It's not USAirways, it's one bad Stewardess. Putting aside he was in the military, she was rude and unprofessional to a customer. For that reason, I'd fire her.

Po3. Exactly. Mainstream media is great for stories of heartwarming animal rescue though.

As far as Senator/Secretary John Kerry what do you have against Military Silver Star Winner's. If a Veteran Campaigns against war all of a sudden he is a "Commie".

Sgt Packy Flickinger just because Fox is the most watched and trusted does not make it the most accurate by any stretch of the imagination. Studies have consistently found that Fox viewers are the least informed out of viewers of all major news sources, and even less informed than those who watch no news at all:

http://inthecapital.streetwise.co/2014/02/07/study-people-who-dont-watch-the-news-are-more-informed-than-fox-viewers/

Also, PolitiFact actually ranks Fox as being the least truthful out of any major news network. Seriously, look at them all.

Funny how a liberal poll rates liberal news the highest, even under one who has the lowest Nielsen rating. The link to Politifact doesn't rate them against each other. The report I saw, even rebroadcast on Stewart does. And it rates it higher. Bottom line liberal polls will get liberal results. Core math I guess. Think logically for a second. How can someone who doesn't watch news at all be less informed than one who watches any. Liberal media wants to sensor what you believe. As stated before I don't watch any mainstream news anymore as they are all wrong. It's just the attack on Fox is political, not news related.

CPT (Join to see) how good is Al Jazeer? Complete, trustworthy, unbiased? I see it advertised but it doesnt give any time or Chanel. I was alway curious if it gives a bias given its name. I'd like to catch it some time. Since its satellite, the Chanel it's advertised on isn't the one it's broadcast on.

Sgt Packy Flickinger I have found a small amount of bias when they would have certain reporters talking about Israel/Palestine issues, but overall I am not finding a lot of bias at all. Everything seems to be reasonably balanced and they cover a lot of global events that miss the news in the US that are a HUGE deal in my opinion. Prior to this deployment, I was catching great news on Africa which is helpful for me. US news even seems to be covered without party-bias, however it is in shorter supply...which means you may not catch the latest on BrangelinaKimye's latest faux pas....which is fine by me.

If I had just posted the CNN artcle about the same issue, would you havea different opinion?  This isn't a right wing/left wing issue (though many end up being like that).  CNN and many other sources are also reporting this information.

Clearly the Flight Attendant was being a jerk, based on the reaction of the other customers. Sounds like she needs to be educated in a manner neglected by her parents. Respect your military service members. Especially First Sergeants.
