[The Million Student Marchers] wanted only three things: tuition-free education, cancellation of all student debt and $15 minimum wage for campus workers. What words of wisdom do you have for the Brats @ Mizzou?

Want free education? Join the military. Cancellation of student debts? Don't get a loan. Or be like captain cool breeze and get mommy and daddy to pony up the cash to pay for it. $15 min wage? I'm ALL for it. Now watch as you get that $15 an hour your working hours become shorter and shorter. While this is going on, make me my sammich.

There are probably 20 million college students in the US. I'm not that great at math but common sense tells me not everybody will be able to join the military or qualify to join the military. The cost of higher education is ridiculous. I think they should look into making some of that free if the money's there. And it is. These flight schools are ripping off the government charging almost triple what civilians get charged. ITT costs $44k a year!?!? Why? It's a damn technical school and most of those credits won't transfer.

SSG (Join to see) - You bring up a good point, but some of these students want to attend a school that in not in their state, or is known beforehand to cost a ton. Now if they want to attend Yale instead of OU (for example), then the additional cost shouldn't be on the taxpayer. If the student gets a scholarship and attends playing sports and then gets injured to the point where his scholarship is in jeopardy, then maybe in some cases we could look at that for help. Inner city or rural kids who try hard but cannot afford it, I could see them with additional assistance, but limited to in state schools. Going to a pro-profit school? You're on your own and stupid for doing it. But even with all that, most could attend school after completing their first enlistments in their branch of choice.

Private schools SHOULD have measures to make school more affordable for students but they don't have to. I believe the Obama administration is proposing that community college be free for students who meet the requirements. That's a good start because you can knock out a lot of those core classes that are required in four year colleges. Students can also get technical training since not everybody needs or wants to go to college. Back in the day when kids graduated vocational high school they had a lot of the skills to get hired by companies. Now they're not even finishing high school. I think the "free" option should be considered. They can be required to do volunteer work or something also.

They are not protesting, they are trying a bullying tactic. You give me what I want or I am going to do ____. A list of demands? I would of told them to kick rocks. I am so tired hearing about entitled kids thinking that they can bully ANYTHING or ANYONE they want, all they have to do is cry about how they are being oppressed. $15/hour on campus jobs? Great, now get ready for your tuition to triple. Student loan forgiveness? Free college? Ha!, who in the hell is going to pay for that? Have ya'll looked at our national deficit lately? Make college affordable? How about you do well enough in High School to get a scholarship. If you fail to do well enough in school, well don't go to college, join the service or accumulate student loans. Aww, poor baby, some ignorant person called you a name? You are choosing to let his/her ignorance beat you. Since when did we become so thin skinned? Don't get me wrong, I think that racism is deplorable, but we can't change the minds of those who wish to remain ignorant. There are over 4,000 public and private universities (including 2 and 4 year institutions) in the United States. If you don't like the one you are at, transfer to a different one! We have become a country full of whiny little brats that go cry when something doesn't go our way or when someone calls us a name...it is no wonder that we are moving backwards instead of forwards. Just my little two cents worth.

Man I worked part time and went to school full time. I ate my share of ramen and PBJ sandwiches. Spending $20 was a life altering event. 20 million students at $30,000 a year will be 600 billion dollars each year.

What would I tell these selfish brats? $15 an hour, the machine costs less. Want "Free College"? See an Armed Forces Recruiter! Then I would quote President Kennedy "..ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." After that, they would get my size 10 1/2 boot in their butt.
