What affect (good or bad) do you believe you will have by not having a complete profile and photo on RallyPoint?

It really depends on what you use Rally Point for, since I'm not looking for a Job or trying to develop contacts not having a complete profile has not had any negative affect on me. I find RP topics and comments entertaining, another way for me to keep up with military discussions and items of interest.

RallyPoint encourages everyone to complete their profile as much as they can. It allows other members to learn about you and to hopefully better understand where you are coming from in the forums.
Employers that use this as a way to reach possible candidates for a job, can also see your background to help better understand both your hard and soft skills.
RallyPoint provides users that take the time to complete their profile with a chance to earn the Blue Ribbon which is RP's way of saying thank you for the time and effort taken to complete the profile.

Ben you are absolutely correct for me as a fortune 500 recruiter I look for individuals who have taken the time to complete their profile. I see people say the cookie cutter "attention to detail" and they leave out completing their profile. The profile and presence in the social media space is your personal brand.

I worry about the unverified members most of all, SSgt Rilene Ann. I've connected with a few, but I know these people outside RP. Thus, I prefer to connect with verified members, even if their profile is somewhat lacking and may not have a photo. SGT Ben Keen SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" CW3 Dylan E. Raymond, PHR

I find it challenging to accept someone as a contact without a photo, as well as limited information available regarding background.

I used to think the same way CSM but now I am a open networker and accept pretty much all request. That is an opportunity for me to provide professional feedback to servicemembers to help them out. Sort of like when I had a servicemember that came under my leadership that was not the sharpest person on the block but work with them to make them better. I know you have a ton of story where you not only mentored enlisted but officers as well

I'm actually thinking of scaling back on my profile.
Other than to give our enemies a background profile--and you'd be foolish to think they aren't looking here (Good morning ISIS, go F$%# yourself!)--what real purpose does it serve?

It's interesting to hear the diversity or responses that the value of engagement on this platform. I personally am a open networker so I accept all invites and if there are issues after I connect I address it.
As a fortune 500 military recruiter I need to connect with other and expand my network.
I also have an opportunity to provide professional feedback that could help someone that may not know the value of a topic. Just like when I get a Soldier that come to my unit and not the sharpest person on the block. I can use my leadership to help the person get to where they need to.

Im a bit of a completionist, so I did as much of my profile as I could. I dont think, however, that I will be getting the last ten percent. I don't intend to spam my military coworkers with invites and the ones I know are interested are already on RallyPoint

You can do it Lynn it is the small ankle bitters that can get in the way. Think of the positive side 90% complete
