Eagle
List your favorite patriotic song lyric! Here is one of mine!!

"Hey Uncle Sam
Put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty
Started shakin’ her fist
And the eagle will fly
Man, it’s gonna be hell
When you hear Mother Freedom
Start ringin’ her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you Courtesy of the Red White and Blue"

Fighting soldiers from the sky,
Fearless men who jump and die.

On the second song, my first M16 was made by the Frigidaire Division of the General Motors Corporation. I immediately volunteer to carry the M60.
Short or tall, big or small, 7.62 stops 'em all.

Billy Joel - Goodnight Saigon from 1983, pretty good tune

We met as soul mates on Parris Island
We left as inmates from an asylum
And we were sharp, as sharp as knives
And we were so gung ho to lay down our lives

We came in spastic like tameless horses
We left in plastic as numbered corpses
And we learned fast to travel light
Our arms were heavy but our bellies were tight

We had no home front, we had no soft soap
They sent us Playboy, they gave us Bob Hope
We dug in deep and shot on sight
And prayed to Jesus Christ with all our might

We had no cameras to shoot the landscape
We passed the hash pipe and played our Doors tapes
And it was dark, so dark at night
And we held on to each other
Like brother to brother
We promised our mothers we'd write

And we would all go down together
We said we'd all go down together
Yes we would all go down together

Remember Charlie, remember Baker
They left their childhood on every acre
And who was wrong? And who was right?
It didn't matter in the thick of the fight

We held the day in the palm of our hand
They ruled the night, and the night
Seemed to last as long as six weeks
On Parris Island
We held the coastline, they held the highlands

And they were sharp, as sharp as knives
They heard the hum of our motors
They counted the rotors
And waited for us to arrive

And we would all go down together
We said we'd all go down together
Yes we would all go down together

Songwriters
JOEL, BILLY

SGT (Join to see), I've posted this on another similar discussion thread, but it'll work here as well! The SFTG instructors at Camp Mackall made us come to attention and sing the Ballad of the Green Berets every morning on the days we were in a classroom setting, April-May, 1970! The song was a number one hit in 1966. You asked for lyrics, but I provided the music also!

LTC Stephen C. Sir, that is already one of my youtube favorites. But this one I find is more applicable to the wider audience since and AR-15 was a predecessor to the M4
