For Instance:
"I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said thank you, and went on your way, Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a damn what you think"

From the Dirty Dozen:
Major John Reisman: Which one of you guys wants to be a general?
[to Pinkley]
Major John Reisman: Pinkley?
Pinkley: What kind of general, sir?
Major John Reisman: Just a plain, ordinary, every day, home-lovin' American general.
Pinkley: I'd rather be a civilian, sir.
(later)
Major John Reisman: You've seen a general inspecting troops before haven't you? Just walk slow, act dumb and look stupid!

You know what? That is a sad but true statement. Never thought I would be called a "baby killer" but was when I first got back. Just killed me.

Much as I try to dislike that film (I read the book first), there are just so many bits of dialog that ring true. The whole bit about "a job parking cars" is especially piercing.

About the only part of that movie that justified me even mentioning it was that one statement. Super SF Rambo wasn't much to my liking either!

“We who have seen war, will never stop seeing it. In the silence of the night, we will always hear the screams.”

“You will be a minister of death praying for war. But until that day you are pukes. You are the lowest form of life on Earth. You are not even human, fucking beings. You are nothing but unorganized grabastic pieces of amphibian shit… I am hard but I am fair. There is no racial bigotry here. I do not look down on niggers, kikes, wops or greasers. Here you are all equally worthless.”
– Full Metal Jacket (1987)
R. Lee Ermey as Gunnery Sgt. Hartman doing his best to offer a warm welcome to his newest beloved troops on the first day of boot camp where he will break them down…to break them down some more.

MAJ Paul Hoiland - I consider myself very lucky to have served when I did. For the most part that is how it was when I was in the Corps. No black, no white, no brown all green. Sure there was your occasional bigot but they eventually made themselves known by their stupidity. Then their careers were over and they got out or were put out.
And we were all shit on the same way by the same drill instructors. But by the end of the 13 weeks we all would have given our lives for our drill instructors. Most of us probably still would.

Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher. A civilian Cop asks him what it was like being a criminal investigator in the Army. He replies , ( paraphrased) Its just like what you do except, everyone I investigated was a trained killer.

Heartbreak Ridge - Gunny Highway in response to a very dumb thing by a very dumb Major.
