This is a slightly different topic than famous movie quotes. These are real life quotes -- things that real people [not Hollyweird actors!] said.
What we're doing here is looking for quotes that have some kind of connection of meaning to you that you think others might identify with and vote up.
What I'm referring to are famous military quotes, political, inspirational, satire, witty, sarcastic, etc.
It can even be something you came up with (Don't plagiarize!) or a quote from your friends, but if it's never been in print, you need to tell the story that goes along with it.
Enter as many times as you like. We'll let the up votes determine the overall winners, and in each general category.
Here's an example of something sarcastic by witty:
"They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory!" << (That was Clemson not that long ago.)

One of my favorite quotes of all time comes from the Sword of Truth book series. The main character, explaining his actions, says, "You can never stop all wrongdoing, but if you don't punish it, it proliferates until anarchy wears the robes of tolerance and understanding."
