People always have some pretty colorful excuses for not joining the military. What are your favorite/ most absurd?

To be fair, if they don't want to go to war, probably best they don't join, considering that's kind of what the military does.

The best one I've heard was from a guy at a BBQ. He said "I thought about joining but I don't like people telling me what to do." I asked him what he did for money and he said he was a carpenter. I asked "so your boss doesn't tell you what to do?" He didn't say anything.

When I was a recruiter, it was at the peak of the surge to Iraq. The biggest objection was "I don't want to die."

Have to wake up too early,clothes dont fit properly, having to shower with a bunch of strangers, dont like to travel too far from home, will interfere with schooling.
