Many Soldiers are not aware that their Regiment (for example the Signal Regiment) has an awards process in place. Signaleers can be awarded the Bronze Order of Mercury for especially distinct service, as long as they are members of their Regimental Association and are recommended by a member in good standing. What are you doing in your Regiment to promote the Regiment and to recognize outstanding Soldiers?

This is a great topic and hopefully educational to a lot of leaders. I am a recipient of the order of Samuel Sharpe (ordnance corps) as well as the order of Saint Maurice (Infantry) some of these medals can be awarded to Soldiers that do not hold an MOS in that particular field, like me getting the Infantry's St, Maurice. I have a few write ups saved somewhere if anybody needs help or ideas of what it should look like then just let me know.

I know that the Engineer Regiment and the Army Engineer Association has the Order of the De Fleury Medal. It is easy nominate someone as long as you know what they have done or you can get them to write you a bio of what they have done in their careers that's engineer related.

I think that the Artillery and Air Defense Artillery branches do a really great job of promoting their Regimental Award - The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara.

In fact, on most posts each year there is a St Barbara's Ball designed specifically to honor our proud heritage and recognize those that have contributed/sacrificed much for the branch.

I am currently a member if the AEA and plan on getting the Bronze Defluery Medal sooner than later. I earned membership in a cool way by doing an Engineer Muster run.

For Bronze it is recommended but not mandatory to have at least 10 years in the Engineer world. I have seen non-Engineers get the award (I do not remember if Bronze or Steel).

Roger Sir. Hopefully I show enough proficiency and contributions to warrant a recommendation for a Bronze DeFleury. I'm only approaching 6 years so I have a ways to go. I'm not sure on the timeline for civilians either.

The aviation branch has an Association which individuals may be nominated for awards, the medallion is huge and is acceptable to wear with the uniform during formal events.
