I've never really had any traditions as of yet, because technically I've only had 2 Father's Day so far. But I wished my father a Happy Father's Day and mailed him a card from my girls.

When my wife and I were newly married without kids, she made me a good supper or took me out for a special meal she knew I liked. When our kids were a little older, say over five years old, we always went out for supper on Father's Day. Dad's choice of restaurant. Now that our kids are grown and have their own families if they can come visit they take me out for a good meal with good conversation. If they can't break away, they call me in the evening and we talk for 15 or 20 minutes about what is going on in our lives. This year my oldest son took me to IHOP for Steak and eggs with great conversation. My youngest son called me and we talked about his vacation in Las Vegas with his spouse and in Laws. Then we talked about the tragic terroristic shooting in Orlando.

Sad to say, I was a Road Warrior of Sorts, Usually TAD, Westpac, Something. Never did get to do much of the Fathers Day Stuff. Now as a Grandpa I enjoy the Fathers Day Call from all my Grandchildren chiming in. They're growing too fast. Now I do enjoy an Evening Tody, I'm out of Bourbon but a couple of Beers and some Sautéed Mushrooms when I get home will go down rather nice.
