I can't say I'm surprised that this is all happening. Right now I'm just sad and frustrated.

I’m disgusted. This government spat in the face of everyone who left something in that desert

I said last week I bet we have helicopters evacuating the US embassy just like Saigon 1975. I am an old Air Cav Vet from Vietnam and lost men there only to watch a few years later as we used chinooks and the Marines to try and save people from the roof of the embassy. I was sick about it then and I am sick about this now. I am also glad I was not trained by this SFC ? ammo specialist that thinks this was all a forgone conclusion. I have news for him President Trump didn't make an agreement with the taliban and Bidden and Harris bragged about their new exit plan that was going to happen on Sept 11th, then decided to change that to less memorable date a few weeks sooner. Trump wanted everyone out in May before the fighting season started but, based on facts on the ground at the tme. I pity the enlisted men who actually put their lives in harms way with the apparent fools that must be commanding them now. We should have been out of there many years ago but there is no excuse for such a dog and pony show to exit. This most certainly is our issue! This idiot commander in chief is going to get good men killed because he and the military leadership are more concerned about politics than they are about accomplishing missions. Same old sh-t new day!

Thank you, but sadly I just heard Iran now has more Blackhawks than 116 countries thanks to our well planed exit. Writing comments seems like a pretty trivial thing to do in such disturbing times.

I’m appalled. Yes, I agree with departing but it’s the way we departed and the betrayal we keep displaying that’s disheartening.

Why be mad or discouraged when I was in Afghanistan I watched the Afghan army and Police train they didn’t take it serious, and not to mention they are allowed to quit when they want to, I also seen them join get the uniforms, then turn right around and give them to the Taliban…. People need to realize that Certain Countries aren’t built like the United States

I can't believe the majority of people in this country continue to elect these idiots into office who continue to do this over and over again!

What was you expecting the United States to do stay over there for Centuries I know for a fact the AP was using our resources for personal use, and when I seen that I realized that they expected the US to stay there and do the fighting for them, our Elected Officials can’t make them want to protect themselves but we did the right thing gave them a date we would Pull out date and told them be ready… Trump told them and Biden executed SGT Wes King

SP5 Christopher Brock - What I expected my country to do was to have a clear plan of action, a set objective, and an exit strategy. At first we had a clear plan of action and Objective, apprehend or eliminate Osama Bin Laden, with a secondary goal of apprehending Saddam Husien. Both Objectives were met, so why did it take another 10+ years, countless lives, and billions of dollars spent in those shitholes to leave? It only took the Russians 10 years to figure out that Afghanistan is a shit hole country with shit hole people (in general).

SP5 Christopher Brock - Hey Chris, good point you make. What I'm saying though, is that history shows us (very clearly) that you basically have a binary decision to make: long term cultural change OR hit 'em hard and get out. Period.

I'm more than unhappy. I was a Drill Sergeant from 2002 to 2004 and most of the troops I trained went to Afghanistan. One of my troops was a recipient of the MOH. This hurts bad. What was all this sacrifice for? I retired in 2006 and still watch what was going on. These 4 star clown were telling the President one thing when another was going on. We should have been out of there 20 years ago.

I too am sad and frustrated.
Our leadership has utterly FAILED us and the afghan people.
Unless we take a multi-generational approach, we should just bomb countries that mess with us and leave ASAP.
The last 20 years has been for nothing.
This is our generations' vietnam.

I am beyond furious and enraged by the gross incompetence of how this entire matter has been handled. Heads in the White House, Congress, the Pentagon and the intelligence community should roll. We've been lied to for many years about the changing "mission." I love our country, but I'm coming to despise my government of both political parties.

I’m so disappointed- I am worried about the 3k plus troops going over there right now. Mostly I’m disgusted. How irresponsible of a president, this is shameful! Those poor families!

I understand what happened happened, still doesn't mean it's going to sit good with me. I kinda feel like my service there was for nothing. What I'm holding onto is that I at least impacted one life.
