What are your feelings as the Taliban reclaim Afghanistan after 20 years of US involvement?

We all knew it would happen, but for the life of me after almost thirty years I can believe we use to put so much effort and time with sensitive items. Remembering the times when the base would get locked down for a pair of missing NVG's or a weapon. Now we have a president that either has no clue or secretary of defense doesn't either.
I never would have believed we would have a president that gave our enemies the tools to kill so many Americans. It will sadly happen . Both Biden and Austin should be tried for treason.

I am Proud of all of the Soldiers and Veterans who have served in the "Stan"... I was not one of them. My 5 deployments were in Iraq. I am Sad and dismayed about what has happened. There can only be changed when they want it. It can't be forced. Hearts and Minds may have worked on a few but not for the culture overall.

Honestly it didn’t surprise me. Billions of dollars wasted, countless american lives lost, innocent afghan civilians caught in the crossfire. This is history repeating itself! Our country should have departed years ago, but didn’t have the courage to do so. Don’t get me wrong, I’m saddened by the end result, but thankful no more American lives are to be lost there.

Before politicalizing the exist plan. Keep in mind of several facts.
1. Trump made a deal with Taliban without involving the Afghan government.
2. Trump released 5000 Taliban prisoners disregard the Afghan president's protest.
3. Trump did push for the pull out in June. Now, did Trump have a plan to pull out?
4. The Taliban took over Afghanistan faster than expected. (See #2). And we did a hasty pull out with very time restrained fashion. If you have been in the military more than a few days, you know exactly what that means.
However, I and some of the veterans do regret that we failed the local nationals that helped the US because we didn't help them leave.

I watched for 3 years our people fight to live on the back of my medevac helicopter
And the wound destroyed for nothing all our people dead and ravaged for fucking nothing. We were disgraced by Biden and his administration all that suffering for nothing

I think it needs to be looked at how Afghans survived Alexander the Great, Mongols, Brits, Soviet Union, and the US.

I am so pissed that I'm afraid to say much for fear of being taking off of Rally Point. This should have never happened this way, what are our leaders thinking (or drinking)?
