What are your thoughts on having different Branches of the military serve on the same post?

This creates a great environment SSG Audwin Scott, especially for training! The ability to train together and to really understand the language, customs and the way of doing business in another branch of service could be a life saving skill while deployed. There could be personalities to work past/thru but overall, this is a win-win situation.

SSG Audwin Scott it is a great idea and I am for the concept. Joint forces and sharing knowledge with all branches will help with the growth of our Military as a whole.

I think it would be a good thing. More resources to pull from!

It would remind Service Members that and further encourage them to understand more about the other branches. All Service Members, especially Leaders, should know other Leaders' ranks.

good and bad, it depends on which branches we are talking.

To me - It makes total sense. Arguably, it saves money in the long term by having a large single base, vs various bases for the various branches within the same immediate area. It also opens up the potential of more collaborated/joint training as well.

I think all in all - Joint Service Bases are the way to go when feasible.

It is an excellent idea, and can only help when during conflicts, there is a need for close coordination between the branches.

I know that cross training helps everyone paint a bigger picture. I think it would get rid of the stigmas between branches and make us have more comrades who will have esprit de corps with more than one color of uniform.

I don't see any problem. I was joint service with Air Force types. Heck, my roomie was a zoomie!

A few thoughts:
- US joint doctrine says that the US military will fight joint combined arms operations.
- US Army doctrine nests with and supports US joint doctrine.
- We inhibit our ability within the operational training domain to fight joint combined arms if we do not train and educate joint combined arms within the institutional training domain.
- Therefore having different branches of the military serve on the same post is a natural implementation of our US joint doctrine. The only argument not to have different branches of the military serve on the same post would be if we are willing to change our National Security Strategy and our joint doctrine such that the US will not fight in a joint combined arms manner.
