What are your thoughts on "rolling sleeves"? Camo in or out?

SSG Aaron Marshall Camo out, because that is the way that we did it when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

SGM Mikel Dawson Agreed. I tried it with my set (before I packed em up for good) and IMO looks like grade a dog shit.

Camo out, and add a button like the Marines. Also, have it rolled just passed the elbows. This would not cover the SSI. We should make the ability to roll the sleeves up part of the uniform, not make the uniform the part of the roll.

Either way back when I first joined we were allowed to roll em up the Army did it so the cuff was out so that if you got caught in a NBC mopp level 1 through 4 you could pull on the sleeve cuffs and it would pull down super easy, other branches like the Marines rolled there's up and it took more time to get them down but each branch had a reason for the way they did it so it would probably be the same set up as before. For myself I preferred the Army way because it was a fast way to get those sleeves down when needed.

Yes, I am with you and that is why the Navy changed and rolled sleeves the Army way. I am a CBR guy and that is one reason we changed and then the ship guys said what about fires. The other thing it had nothing to do with in field or out the reason was the cold war and you could go from MOPP nothing to 4. So you had sleeves as first line of defense you go to what we would call a modified MOPP 0. The reason was we never new when where and if any attack was coming, we had changed are mind set from that pre war setting and I think we are making a mistake.I

Exactly you never know when or where and the terrorists and talked dirty bomb before recently over the last couple of years and it doesn't have to happen in the field because it can happen anywhere at any time.

Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS - could happen anywhere at any time even in garrison, need to think outside of the box

SSG Byron Hewett - Sure, but we don't have any of our other PPE on us in a Garrison Environment anyways. Worrying about how your sleeves are rolled, when you should be worried about seeking cover FIRST. Wrong priority of tasks.
In essence, if you have a MOPP event in Garrison, you're screwed, regardless of which direction your sleeves are rolled.

SSG Aaron Marshall ,
I find it cool that your picture has SMA Dailey and SGM Hood in it, as the pilot program began at Fort Hood!! HAHAHA!! Coincidence, I think not!
