SH = Shit Hot, most often heard in the presence of pilots.
DS = Dog shit, pretty much the opposite of SH.

And, Whisky Tango Foxtrot

Tango Uniform = Tits Up - broken or dead
DS = Dog Shit was also a meteorological term for bad weather

I learned it during the Cold War while undergoing Platoon Confidence Training (PCT) with 10th Special Forces Group Rangers at Bad Tolz, Germany. Unfortunately, most veterans cut it short when using it, thereby diminishing its maximum Ranger-rhetorical effects.
