What do I do if I have less than 12 months remaining until ETS when submitting a warrant packet?

Hello. I've been working towards putting in a warrant packet since I've arrived at my unit. I project that the time I will be finally submitting my packet Will be early 2017. My ETS date is March 2018. I'd like to figure out what I have to do if this happens to be my case? The usarec website doesn't clarify what to do if an applicant has less than 12 months remaining. Thank you!

I want it enough to re-enlist, chief. Is that what I'd have to do, no other special paperwork?

S-1/G-1 have nothing to do with reenlistment...this is the Career Counselors/Retention NCO's area.

If you intend to re-up regardless of selection, then go ahead a do so as soon as you are able to.
You might be better off extending until you know if you get selected because if you make it through the WOCS, then you will be put into a new contract as an officer and your old contract will become void. An extension will make things easier to deal with.
In the summary part of your application (at the end of the resume) mention that you are aware of
the enlistment requirement and that you have (or will at earliest opportunity) extend your current contract to meet the requirements.

See your servicing Career Counselor for specific information/guidance...S1/G1 have nothing to do with reenlistment.

If you are wanting to go aviation, you can apply as a civilian after you ETS.

Well sir I do plan on reenlisting until I get selected. I didn't realize it was as easy as just reenlisting. However I'm undecided on whether I want to reclass or not.

Speak to the Warrant Officer Recruitment Team......would be my first guess. They can spoon feed you the answers to all your questions instead of polling a social media platform like this. Do your homework first before asking random people for help. Go to the source of where the information you need is coming from.

I think you will have to reenlist. The only reason I would say this is because you have to give the WO Corps 7 years service in order to retire as a warrant. If you do not want to prolong your career, I would just ETS and try another profession.

The Others are Correct. You will either have to extend or Reenlist depending on your service goals. If you are submitting a Warrant Officer Packet then you might as well reenlist as there may be bonuses are duty assignments available for you and your current MOS. That will also allow you to the time you will need to get your packet together and ensure it is correct and as strong as you can make it. -Chief
