I’m trying to see what all would I need and have to do to claim my Grandfather as my dependent? For the past few years, I’ve already been claiming him as my dependent tax wise.. I was wondering if I can claim him as a whole?

I believe you get the dependency application at DEERS.

You have to be able to show that you provide more that 50% of their financial stability.

biggest hurdle is overcoming the 1/2 of living expenditures requirement. If they have a job it will be nearly impossible for you to claim them, especially at your pay grade. You need to prove that you have been paying for their support not that you are going to in the future but that you are in fact paying more than half of their support. A medical statement of incapability would also prove it.

Did Audie Murphy claim his siblings as dependents during WW II? or was that Hollywood BS...I guess I'll have to consult "The Bullet Had No Name"
