These types of events are becoming far more common. We had one last week here on Whiteman, call it Wingman Day or CAF day, either way it's the same thing. The original intent was to make them a day to brush people up on things like SAPR, bettering your PT, etc. Things to help develop you as an Airman. To me they are nothing much more than a joke becoming a day intended to boost Airmen's morale while realistically causing it to drop as the events are usually mandated because they know people wouldn't attend otherwise. Luckily I am on goofy shifts and wasn't expected to mess with my schedule to accommodate it but I have heard of people being forced to attend regardless of their shift.
I feel their intentions with the events are good but the execution of the events is handled very poorly.
